The agricultural sector is vital for
ensuring food security for the Beninese population, as well as for promoting
the country’s economic and social development. However, due to a combination of
factors, including a quantitative and qualitative shortage of human resources,
the agricultural sector is hindered in its growth and unable to fully realize
its potential, despite existing opportunities in land and water to be
exploited.
The Agricultural and Rural Training
Support Program contributes to expanding the opportunities for young Beninese
people to access decent work in the agricultural and rural sectors,
particularly in the northern territories of Benin, through supporting the
establishment of qualification pathways focused on the social and economic
development of the country.
The project is structured into three
components :
Component
1 : Agricultural
and rural training infrastructure program (PDA 1 and 2) : Construction and
equipping of the Agricultural Technical High School (LTA) in Malanville and
rehabilitation and equipping of the LTA in Banikoara.
Component
2 : Training and
integration system of PDA 2.
Component
3 : Establishment
of a consultation framework for stakeholders in PDA 2.
A
final component will support the implementation of the project (Project
Management Assistance, Monitoring/Evaluation, Communication, Audits, Support to
the project team, etc.).
